WILTSHIRE gained their first win in the Minor Counties Championship since 2009 when they beat Wales by seven wickets at Pontarddulais today.

Wales won the Sunday toss and chose to bat on a wicket made low and slow by the recent rain.

They were all out in the 85th over for 275 with Dion Holden scoring 83 and Darren Thomas 39.

For Wiltshire, Ashur Morrison took 5-55 and Mukesh Bhatt 3-48.

In reply, Wiltshire reached 73-1 at the close of play on the first day.

Wiltshire made good progress on day two, with debutant Toby Davies scoring 66 and Ed Kilbee 38.

Skipper Joe Breet took over and scored his second championship century of the season, being finally out for 126 as Wiltshire totalled 330 all out in the 90th over to gain maximum batting points.

Wales then made a disastrous start to their second innings and had lost five wickets before the deficit of 55 had been wiped out.

Morrison and Tahir Afridi were among the early wickets and they were finally all out for 173, leaving Wiltshire to score 120 to win in five overs at the end of the second day and the whole of the third.

Daniel Lewis-Williams scored 49 as Morrison took 6-24 in 14 overs - taking 11 wickets in the match - and Afridi 3-72.

Wiltshire were 29 without loss at the close of the day and reached their target just after noon today, for the loss of three wickets ending up at 122-3.

Davies scored 26, Henry Langford 36 and Breet 35 not out. Rhodri Evans took 3-39 for Wales.
