8:00am Tuesday 26th June 2012 in Sport By Dan Barnes
Chippenham manager Nathan Rudge has announced five summer signings
CHIPPENHAM Town have sent out a statement of intent to their Southern League rivals after unveiling their five new signings for the new season last night.
Headlining the quintuplet of new faces introduced to fans at Hardenhuish Park is experienced former Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City striker Lee Phillips.
The 31-year-old has also enjoyed a successful career at Conference level with Cambridge United and joins the Bluebirds from Bath City.
Chippenham chief Nathan Rudge has also signed former Tiverton Town and Forest Green Rovers midfielder Scott Rogers, 32, from Newport County.
Another recruit from Bath City is 18-year-old forward Josh Egan, who had a spell at Blackpool after leaving Cheltenham Town’s academy.
England futsal captain and winger Luke Ballinger has joined from rivals Frome Town while Shaun Lamb was re-introduced to the Bluebirds faithful.
The full-back left the club towards the end of last season but has re-signed for Chippenham.
“We’ve brought in five good players, there’s no question about it,” said Bluebirds boss Rudge.
“We’re happy with what we’ve done and we’ve gone about our business keeping ourselves to ourselves.”
