Di Canio extends contract at Swindon

SWINDON Town manager Paolo Di Canio has agreed to extend his contract until 2015.
The Italian enjoyed a successful first season at the County Ground, leading his side to promotion from League Two having joined the club last May on a two-year deal.
“I’m very happy,” Di Canio said.
“It is obvious now we can start to work again and I am more than happy to be here.
“That is what I wanted and i’m happy we can say can keep going together with the plan we wanted, which makes me feel more than happy.”
Swindon chairman Jeremy Wray was delighted his manager had agreed to stay at the club.
“Paolo has been a spectacular success in his first year of club management," he said in a statement.
“From the outset he has given assurances of his commitment to Swindon, as long as we had a shared goal of reaching the Championship within three years.
“Having agreed the budget for the upcoming season, the board has every confidence that Paolo will deliver this goal within the period of his new contract.”
Di Canio added: “From now I can work like a manager has to work, it is obvious in the last few weeks I wasn’t on holiday without thinking of Swindon, I was working.
“I did the maximum that I should, so I watched many League One games from last year to see which clubs we are going to play against and what strengths they have.
“I do not want to not be ready for the start of next season, but now I am very happy because I feel totally part of the plan and we have confirmed the plan.”
