RACING: Charlton has plans for Bishop Roko
10:55am Tuesday 22nd May 2012 in Sport
ROGER Charlton has already slotted a plan into place for last weekend's impressive debut winner Bishop Roko.
The Rock Of Gibraltar colt formed one of a trio of successes for the stable on Saturday when pulling six lengths clear in a maiden at Newbury.
"It will be interesting to see how the handicapper views his victory," said Beckhampton trainer Charlton.
"There is a possibility he will run in a conditions race before being aimed at the Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O 10-furlong race at Newmarket on Saturday, June 30."
The Beckhampton team struck twice at Newmarket, with Mince getting herself out of trouble to justify favouritism in the CoralChampionsClub.co.uk Sprint Trophy and Captain Cat taking another maiden by four and a half lengths.
Of Mince, the trainer told rogercharlton.com: "She is a thoroughly tough and game filly that keeps on improving and it will be fun contemplating her future plans.
"Captain Cat won his division of the mile maiden race in good style but Jamie Spencer confirmed my feelings that he is still very weak, so the plan is to give him at least two months before running again.
"He should develop into a nice horse given time and patience from connections."
