  • "Yes very good news, and it sets a marker for anyone wondering about the club's commitment.

And IF PDC is still considering his options, then surely Paul would have held back until he knew who his manager will be next season."

PAUL Caddis has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Swindon Town, the club have confirmed.

Caddis, who joined the Robins from Celtic in the summer of 2010, was set to see his current deal at the County Ground run out at the end of next season.

However, Swindon have now triggered an option to keep the club captain in Wiltshire for another 12 months.

"It's something I thought would happen - I'm happy here and the club are happy to have me," Caddis told BBC Wiltshire.

"The manager likes me and people behind the scenes have complimented me on the way I've put myself about.

"It's a bit of security for myself and I just hope by the end of my contract I'll be playing in the Championship with Swindon."
