SWINDON Town’s eventful 2011/2012 season ended with a 0-0 draw away at Bradford this afternoon.

In truth it was a tough afternoon for Town as they struggled to replicate the form which has seen them sweep all before them this season to win the League Two title, as Bradford enjoyed the majority of the possession and had the better chances.

But at the final whistle the 1,200 travelling supporters were still able to celebrate their success this season, as the Town players went over to the fans and lifted up manager Paolo Di Canio and threw him up in the air in celebration, before tossing their shirts into the crowd.

Back on the pitch, Nehki Wells and James Hanson caused problems for the Town back line all afternoon, while David Syers had a number of long range efforts.

Wes Foderingham made a number of good saves to keep the scores level, while Luke Rooney and John Bostock had long range efforts for Town.

Just got back from the match, a bit of a struggle today tbh, but the after match celebrations where Paolo and the team all sat down and told the fans to be quiet, only then for all of them to stand up start singing 'Stand up for the Champions' was great. Well Done to everyone, quality support again.

We weren't particularly great today but hey, we were able to celebrate at the final whistle and I will never forget being part of an amazing effort from the fans and singing with the players at the end! Brilliant.

Anyone know what happened with the bunch who descended on that pub on the highstreet? Then an ambulance turned up but anyone know what actually happened?

Best bit today was the Port Vale fans chanting Paolo DeCanio. This was after they beat the yellow peril from up the road.

Well done to all at our club. Brilliant effort from everyone this year, and not forgetting those supporters who support the team on all those away games. you are true supporters.

Thanks to Danny Wilson too! Why? Because only his bunch of tossers could balls up my accumulator by conceding a very late goal -so late it was almost too late -no wonder they missed automatic!

Nice comment, It's only right to respect another club's moment to show some unity.

I also thought fair play to your stadium announcer for the welcome and congratulations as 'Champions' and the Bradford players for our team's 'guard of honour' on to the pitch.
Shame the game was a bit dire but you can't have it all!!!

Respect to you my friend. My lads placed flowers on the memorial before the game. I stood reading the names of those who sadly are no longer with us. Young Children, Families and everyone else.

Proud to hold my scarf up and had a tear in my eye.

A day that united football fans and proud to have been able to show my respect.

As for the football not the best game and lucky to come away with the point.

Good luck next season but today is for those fans of Bradford City Football Club.

Never Forgotton....RIP from STFC.

Oh, one other thing... the article claims STFC this season have "seen them sweep all before them"... Well thats 0-0s home and away against us, not much being swept there...

Just got back. Thanks for the thanks, we had a similar tribute last week to Town fans that passed away during the season and the Scarves aloft 'a la Paolo' will possibly become a tradition among Town fans.

Enjoyed the day, friendly atmosphere and nice to see your tribute to our players when they came onto the pitch.

We visited the club shop and had a look round the museum upstairs, really interesting insight into your club's history.

Good luck next season, your club deserves to be in a higher league.

We'll leave that to our Emperor talking about our players!

Devasted today is the last day of the season. Just can't wait for next season.

Back to back promotions coming. Watching the birth of a managerial legend.

Gave the Club Shop a miss as I'm not a great fan of commercialism in football - hearing there was a museum above makes me regret that decision!

The thing that hit home to me regarding the memorial was the number of duplicate family names on it. Really, really sad.

There are few things in life more poignant than thousands of people in the same place being silent. Was glad to be a part of it.

Managed to get Lee Holmes shirt at end of game. While he was warming up I asked him if I could have it for my lad who is going to New Zealand for 12 months now the season is over. Top man came over and gave me the shirt at end of game so my lad will have a reminder of STFC while he is away, many thanks Lee hope you sign and do the business for us next season.

Largely forgetable game which Bradford should have won but their finishing let them down and my MOM, Sir Wes, was on a mission.

Strange back four today with McEveley partnering Flint and Caddis on the wrong side in the first half. We never built properly from the back.

Felt sorry for Nathan Thompson, who I suspect the changes allowed to fit in, as he was smashed after about 15 minutes and was forced to go off shortly after.

Great to see the "win a Pro-Contract" player, Chris Smith, getting a chance today (well done Paolo). Probably came on a bit earlier than expected but did okay and seemed to adjust better in the second half when played on the other side.

Brilliant support again today and the players "Stand Up for the Champions" will live in the memory for many years :-)

Actually looking forward to the break but I am not sure how long that will last !

0-0 sums up what PDC has to to do pre season - strengthen the attack/midfield

Another clean sheet now gives us the best defence in English professional football at 0.696 goals conceeded per game

Even if Joe Hart keeps 2 clean sheets Man City will be second with 0.710

Q for the stat fans - has this ever been achieved by STFC before ????

Great form from Paulo post game. Shame the scrouts tried to spoil it for everyone else particularly in the 2nd half! Good performance from 95% of the fans such as the Championes for the kids team at half time

The 5% 'scrouts' you refer to Papa686 must have been a school outing for Class 6C and judging by the embarrassing behaviour from these Danny Dyer wannabes it would be better for all if in future they just concentrated in handing their home work in not only on time but with joined up hand writing.

rambo,ty,the swindon fans are the best they deserve the respect.
re, the sweeping, my friend you use the whole season,not just a dirty bit in the corner( not calling you dirty,btw)so after all the sweeping we did,it was worn out so we used a duster for our last game.
Good luck,youve been through some hard times as have we,you will get it back.
