I did not respond to any of the abusive comments about my quote after the Crewe defeat, out of respect to Fabrice Muamba of Bolton and I do most sincerely hope he gets better. However, I stand by my thoughts that Town have suffered an alarming dip in form in recent weeks and apart from the obvious defeats against Oxford and Crewe, have won several games that we were very, very lucky to win. My comments were deliberately controversial about ''taxi for Di Canio'', But Paolo is brutally honest in the new article on the Adver site Sunday evening and says ''that if we play like that again, we will not finish in the top three''. I said that Saturday evening after being at the match!! Paolo's honesty really is refreshing. The follow up to my comments Saturday evening make very interesting reading;- Very intelligent responses from Den, as always to be fair, from Don69, Lazaat, Gibbo 1012, Malkym with several intelligent comments, Davethered who refers to free speech, Pinehurst red and Oldtownrobin. In contrast to emotional comments from Hardwickred, towntime, ashley 101, since 1950, northstand and p*ssedoff. Also, ZZnewyork, who thinks Carroll joined Liverpool for 134 million!!! Also, stfcnowitall, who cannot even spell his user name!! All fair comments, although often inaccurate. Equally indifferent comments from andy5364,cookie43, and who am i,{another dick}. We then get to the dregs of society, the Witney and Oxford brigage. For the avoidance of any doubt, the Wizard of Witney is also glasred, is also Chish and Fips, which he admits on the Oxford Mail site, also Jayden, who made a totally inaccurate quote about me at 7.36 Saturday night, and Mbiker, and league2runnersup 2006/07. Also blakeyonthebuses, what an absolute dick!!! And who on earth is eyeless47???
I,m with you on the Muamba thing, but joey you invite contoversy with post like that,of course you have every right to post and we have every right to respond.
BTW how much did carrol cost?"

SWINDON TOWN: We weren't good enough - Di Canio

PAOLO Di Canio admitted his Swindon side were off the pace for the vast majority of their League Two clash with Crewe.

A poor display from Town saw them suffer a 2-0 defeat at Gresty Road, with Nick Powell and Ashley Westwood scoring either side of the break for the hosts.

Although Swindon rallied in the closing stages of the game, boss Di Canio admitted it was too little, too late, and blamed himself for the loss.

He said: “The last 25 minutes I don’t even want to even consider. We had nothing to lose and we were trying to react.

“A team at the top should play like we did in the last 15 minutes, since the kick-off.

“Today the fault for sure is with Paolo Di Canio, because probably I lost in the last few weeks my humility.”
