Suspended skipper Iain Harvey will have to settle for a seat in the stands at Ashford Town on Saturday but believes Chippenham Town have what it takes to progress to the next round of the FA Cup.
The club captain will miss the important third qualifying round fixture after being given a one match ban for picking up five bookings.
And Harvey says that while he doesn’t like watching football, he will make an exception in this case.
“I’ll definitely be there to support the boys. It’s a big game and one we can win,” said Harvey, who would be available if the tie goes to a replay.
“I’d always rather be out there and I don’t enjoy watching from the sidelines.
“Hopefully we’ll get through and I’ll be in the frame for the next round.”
While David Pratt was rested against Gloucester to save him for the FA cup game, the Bluebirds captain looked on from the bench as Adie Mings experimented with players that may take his place this weekend.
“The manager wanted to try something out with Ashford in mind which is something I completely understand,” he said.
“Marc Richards came in and did a good job for us. I’m sure he’ll do it again on Saturday.”
