Malmsbury boxer Joe Hughes battled to a win in Dublin for England at the weekend - and is now recovering on a hard-earned break.
Hughes won by a single point 22-23 and was happy with the result in the international against Ireland's James Kavanagh.
He said: "It was a really tough fight, I have beaten him before and I should have really won by more but I was glad to get the decision.
"He is ranked number two in the seniors in Ireland and in England I am not even at that level yet because I am still a junior."
Hughes is now looking forward to a holiday and a break away from boxing.
He said: " I'm still ticking over with my training and going in every morning.
"The good thing is now though that I can eat what I want and go and have a holiday.
"I'm not concerned about my weight and should be able to get back down fine."
Hughes' coach Tony Stellard is keeping his options open for him.
He said: " We have a few options for him, he could go to the senior ABA's or he has few England internationals lined up for when he gets back from his holiday.
"He has been good this year and he keeps on developing as a boxer.
"He has earned this break now but I know he will be totally dedicated to his boxing when he comes back after his break."
