CLUB stalwart Justin Flowers says he doesn’t know what to expect from his Corsham Town side this season.

Following the departure of Jamie Harrison as manager, Flowers decided to step up to the top job for the coming Toolstation League First Division campaign.

The new Corsham manager arrived at the Southbank Ground as a player, before moving into the coaching side of the game.

Now, 17 years later, Flowers says he wants to accumulate the best players who have represented the club in recent years to play one season together and see how they go.

“I’ve been at the club since I was 16 and I am 33 now. I took over from Jamie about three or four weeks ago,” he said.

“We have brought in all the players we have been aiming to get. Players who have played for us previously, I want all the good ones to be here at the same time.

“Corsham have always had good players. I am really happy with the recruitment of the players and the results from the friendlies, so we just want to get going now.”

Flowers has been able to bring in several players from the surrounding areas, including Alex Hillier, Dan Harvey, Harry Neil, Jack Morris, Lewis McCarron, Dan King and Ben Pring.

However, despite the strong recruitment drive, the newly-appointed Corsham manager says he is still unsure on how his side will perform this year.

“It’s hard to say what to aim for,” added Flowers.

“It would be easy to say better than last year, but I do genuinely believe with the squad we have it should be closer to the top of the table.

“You have to aim high and I think with the players we have, that is a realistic thing to be striving towards.”

Corsham begin their campaign on the road with a trip to Welton Rovers on Saturday, before facing county rivals Calne Town a week later.
