URCHFONT'S Polly Maton has been named in Great Britain's 52-strong team for the World Para Athletics European Championships in Berlin next month.

The 18 year old, who clinched a silver medal in the T47 long jump at the World Para Athletics Championships in London last summer, will contest the event again in Germany from August 20-26.

Team Devizes competitor Maton, who trains under the tutelage of Colin Baross at Team Bath and also took part in the 2016 Rio Paralympics, will also take part in the T47 100m, in which she claimed fifth place at the worlds last year, as well as joining Britain's team in the 4x100m mixed relay.

Seven of Britain's gold medallists from London last year - Hollie Arnold, Olivia Breen, Hannah Cockroft, Aled Davies, Sophie Hahn, Stef Reid and Richard Whitehead are all named in the British team.
