WILTSHIRE were 87-2 at stumps on day one of their Unicorns Championship Western Division clash against Berkshire at Corsham CC yesterday.
Defending champions Berkshire were indebted to half-centuries from Stewart Davison (63), who kept wicket with Jack Davies away on England U19 duty, and the in-form Waqas Hussain (53) as they posted 296 all out.
The home side's Tahir Afridi took 3-50 with skipper Ed Young taking 3-63, while Bradley Dawson finished with 2-51.
In reply, the home side lost openers Will Wade and Jake Goodwin with the score in the 40s, with Uzi Qureshi on 17 not out and Neil Clark unbeaten on 26 as the day came to a close.
