SWINDON Town will after all take on local rivals Swindon Supermarine in a pre-season friendly this summer, it has been confirmed.
The now-annual contest between Town and the Webbs Wood Stadium outfit will take place on Friday, July 27 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
A fixture between the two had appeared unlikely at one stage, with both sides' pre-season calendars filling up but Phil Brown's Town will now make the short trip for what could be their final warm-up contest prior to the start of the Skybet League Two season.
It will be the 25th consecutive summer that a fixture has been played between the two, with Marine - under the stewardship of Lee Spalding - having been promoted to the Southern League Premier Division for next season.
Ticket prices for the fixture will be announced at a later date.
