DAUNTSEY’S has enjoyed another stunning athletics season with the senior girls' team going unbeaten for a second campaign in a row.

The senior boys' team from the school near Devizes has also had a superb season, the highlight being winning the Lutra Shield at the Yeovil Arena, beating Sherborne, Bryanston, Wellington, Taunton, Blundells, Kingswood and Millfield.

More than 50 pupils competed in the recent Kennet Area trials with many of them going on to be selected to represent the area in the County Championships.

Marcus Olsen, Director of Sport, Dauntsey’s said: “This has been another superb athletics season for both our boys and girls.

"The teams have performed brilliantly at each fixture, against some very tough competition.

"The strength of Dauntsey’s athletics continues to exceed all expectations and this coincides perfectly with the start of a new running track being built in the next few weeks.

“For 2019, we will have an eight-lane, all-weather track on the Mercers Fields, allowing our athletes to train throughout the year. The future of Dauntsey’s athletics looks very bright indeed.”
