MALMESBURY recorded a second home win of the Division One season by beating last season’s champions Bear Flat by 75 runs.

Batting first, Malmesbury made 206-7 led by opener George Royle (69) and backed up by James Pearce-Smith (38) and youngster Toby Kershaw (34).

In reply Bear Flat were rocked by early wickets from Stuart Brazingotn (2-13) and Brad Toseland (2-32), with only Henry Smith resisting with 64 not out as they were dismissed for 131.

Swindon 2nd were beaten by four wickets by league leaders Potterne 2nd despite a century from opener Paresh Porobo.

Porobo scored 112 of Swindon's 286-8, but Sam Gaiger scored 115 in reply to guide Potterne to a winning 287-6 with 17 balls to spare.

Jonathon Clarke's unbeaten 77 led Nationwide House's successful run chase at Box.

John Reivers 3-21 helped limit Box to 184 all out and thanks to Clarke and Anthony Pettifer (61) House chased that down inside 37 overs, finishing on 185-6 for a four-wicket win.

DIVISION TWO

SWINDON NALGO remain top of the table despite a first defeat of the season, a seven-wicket loss at Bath Hospitals.

Three wickets each for Stuart Webb-Martin and Jon Fair saw NALGO all out for 129 and openers Div Puri (57) and Andrew Boyce (48) mounted a successful run chase for Hospitals.

Biddestone 2nd earned a seven-wicket success away at Beckington.

The home side were dismissed for 150 and Biddestone scored 156-3 in reply, led by Charlie Quarrell (45 not out) and Tim Knight (40).

DIVISION THREE

GOATACRE 2ND triumphed by seven runs in the top-of-the-table clash against their Burbage & Easton Royal counterparts.

Mark Styles' 5-29 caused the Goats problems as they were amassed 183 all out.

Gareth Robb made 64 in reply but George Macilwaine and Thomas Ponting picked up three wickets each to dismiss Burbage for 176.

DIVISION FOUR

HAYDEN Lloyd and Brad Angell took four wickets each to keep Trowbridge 2nd top of the table after a five-wicket win at Devizes 2nd.

The hosts made just 134 and Stephen Johnson (43) top scored in the Trowbridge reply as they reached 135-5 in 27 overs.

DIVISION FIVE

MELKSHAM maintained their 100 per cent record for the season with a two-wicket triumph over Wanborough.

Openers Andy Thompson (60) and George Penfold (43) set up Wanborough for a score of 169-5 off their 45 overs.

Matthew Hunt (35), Richard Hemmings (33) and Joe Veacock (31) all made valuable contributions in reply as Melksham reached a winning 171-8 with two overs in hand.

Wanborough's Ian Love claimed three wickets.

Joe Panes led the way with both bat and ball to see Biddestone 3rd to a first win of the summer as they beat visitors Collingbourne by 52 runs.

Panes made 57 of his side's 185-6, with Jon Candler claiming three wickets for Collingbourne.

Andy Holman led the visitors response with a battling 58 but Panes' three wickets saw them all out for 133.

DIVISION SIX

BLUNSDON were blown away by Buscot Park bowler Mark Thatcher (4-17) as they suffered a hefty 147-run defeat at home.

Scott Metcalfe claimed three wickets for Blunsdon but the visitors were still able to pass 200 in their 45 overs, finishing on 207-9.

Blunsdon then fell apart in reply as Thatcher helped skittle them for a meagre 60 in the 21st over.
