DEVIZES Ladies made it back-to-back wins with a 34-run success over near neighbours Potterne.

Captain Jen Heppell won the toss and chose to bat, and openers Amy Langan and Emma Banham got things under way before the latter fell with the score on 10.

Langan continued to push the score along alongside Emma Zabeo (19 not out) until she retired on 26, following a pre-match agreement between the two sides.

A middle order collapse followed as Devizes lost three wickets for 13 runs, but Zoe Back came in to partner Zabeo and helped Devizes post 93 off their 20 overs.

Devizes needed quick wickets to stay on top and captain Heppell’s decision to use two junior players to open the bowling proved inspired.

Thanks to superb accuracy from Trixe Beddoe and Martha Honeybone, Potterne were two wickets down with only five runs on the board.

Potterne still had their trump card at the crease in the shape of Hannah Morgan, who played excellently before retiring on 27, although she later returned at the end of the innings and finished on 36 not out.

Sadly, Morgan ran out of partners as wickets were taken by Heppell and Zabeo, although the undoubted star was 13-year-old Beddoe, who finished with figures of 4-14.
