SWINDON Town boss Phil Brown is hopeful that striker Luke Norris will be fit to feature in Saturday's League Two trip to promotion rivals Exeter City as he prepares to welcome midfielder Amine Linganzi back to the squad.

Norris ended an 11-match run without a goal by nodding home the opener in the 3-1 win at Cambridge United last weekend - Brown's first game in charge - but subsequently limped out of the Abbey Stadium action with an ankle problem.

However Brown is hopeful that the frontman, who has scored 12 times for Town in league matches this season, will be fit to feature at St James Park, while Linganzi, who has not featured since playing 45 minutes in the 2-1 New Year's Day win at Barnet may also be back in the frame.

Brown, who is also set to retain Stuart Moore in goal with Reice Charles-Cook still suffering from his wrist injury, said: "I'm hoping Amine Linganzi will be available this weekend. Donal McDermott has trained but not fully, Reice Charles-Cook isn't available and hopefully Luke Norris will come through."

"Amine is a good size, he's got a good attitude with regards to the ball. He protects it fairly well and we've had a look at him this week."

Saturday's fixture is the only one Town have remaining against a current member of League Two's top eight, barring the home clash against leaders Accrington on the final day of the season and Brown is not attempting to play down the significance of the meeting with the Grecians.

"Saturday is going to be a difficult game and it is a six-pointer for me. Exeter missed out last year, that would have hurt them and we know it is going to be a difficult place to go to.

"Paul Tisdale has done a remarkable job there. They are knocking on the door of success and we're in their way. It is a homely club, you are always welcome but it is about us going there to try and win the game.

"We think Exeter will be a tougher test this weekend, no disrespect to Cambridge, and we've got to be ready for that.

"I'm picking a team this week based on performance. If a player plays well then he will keep his shirt on merit."

"The pictures I'm seeing when we have got the ball in training has got me excited. We need to see more of that on Saturday."
