Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players in today’s 1-0 win at home to Mansfield Town in League Two.
REICE CHARLES-COOK – 7
Not an overly busy afternoon behind a resolute Town defence but marshalled the back-line well.
BEN PURKISS – 8
Excellent performance and dealt with everything that came down his channel and read the game well to cut out any threats.
MATT PRESTON – 8.5
Stepped up as the leader of the defence in the absence of captain Olly Lancashire and produced a lion-hearted display to keep dangerman Danny Rose quiet.
ROLLIN MENAYESE – 7
Not as prominent as the other members of Town’s back three but was strong in everything he needed to do.
KYLE KNOYLE – 7
Was always a willing outlet down the right and sent in some superb deliveries that almost led to goals.
TIMI ELSNIK – 8.5
All-action performance in the middle and helped spark a series of attacks into life. Went close to adding to his goal tally too.
OLLIE BANKS – 7
Did a lot of dirty work to allow others to flourish and was a calming influence in the middle of the park but also played his part getting forwards. Booked.
KESHI ANDERSON – 8
A lung-busting run forwards created Town’s goal and could have had another couple of goals himself. Refreshed after a midweek rest.
MATT TAYLOR – 9
Wonderful low finish for what turned out to be the winner and delicious deliveries with his left foot were a feature of Town’s play all afternoon.
LUKE NORRIS – 7
Pinged for a couple of early fouls but soon got to grips with the game and held up the ball nicely.
MARC RICHARDS – 7.5
Handed the captain’s armband and led by example with an energetic performance up top. Didn’t give the Mansfield defence a moment’s peace.
Substitutes:
PAUL MULLIN – 6
(For Anderson, 90+2) Brought on to help close the game out but little time to make an impact.
Subs not used: Stuart Moore, Chris Robertson, James Dunne, Ellis Iandolo, Kaiyne Woolery, Joe Romanski.
