CORSHAM Oak’s duel with Sutton Benger at Leafy Lane was the only Division One fixture that survived the heavy overnight rain.
With standing water all over the pitch, only a common-sense approach from both teams ensured no player received a serious injury in a game that Corsham won 3-1.
James Hernandez gave Corsham a half-time lead, Szymon Lepek doubled their lead and the Oakmen saved the best to last when Mitchell unleashed a thunderbolt into the top corner from 30 yards. Jason Cole scored a late consolation for Benger.
