CHIPPENHAM opened the second half of their GoCrea8 League Central One campaign with a magnificent seven against Taunton Vale B.

Debutant Rich Green received the ball at the top of the D and hit it on his reverse for the opener before Mark Knight doubled the advantage from a short corner.

A second Knight drag-flick made it 3-0 before half-time before Aled Evans squeezed home another in the second half from a tight angle.

Knight completed his hat-trick and then added a fourth to round off the scoring for the second-placed side.

Chippenham A are also in second spot in Central Two after they secured a 5-3 victory at Weston-super-Mare.

Nigel Stonham’s penalty-corner drag-flick put them a goal up before Archie Wright deflected home. Weston hit back to restore parity but Chippenham went a goal up again as Stonham converted from a penalty corner.

The home side were level again in the second period but Chippenham controlled the final 20 minutes and Craig Kilminster and Henry Price added goals.

In East Central One, Chippenham B fought back gallantly in the second half before slipping to a 3-2 loss to Bristol UWE.

The home side were two goals to the good by half-time but Elliot Jones led the revival by halving the deficit after the interval.

The visitors lost Lee Shardlow to injury and Bristol capitalised with a third, meaning Jonty Richards’ strike from a short corner was a consolation.

Chippenham C maintained their unbeaten East Central Two home record with a thumping 7-2 win over Royal Wootton Bassett B, courtesy of a Tim McKendrick hat-trick and doubles from Ron Ousby and Will Thompsett.
