BATH have re-signed tighthead prop Anthony Perenise for the start of the 2017-18 season.

Perenise, who spent three years with Bath between 2011-2014, is a vastly experienced front row forward, with excellent set-piece skills and a dynamic playing style in the loose.

He made 85 appearances in his first stint in the Blue, Black and White, and he is relishing the prospect of playing his rugby back at The Rec.

Samoan international Perenise said: “I have fond memories from my first spell with Bath and I am really excited to be returning to the club and playing in front of some of the best supporters in rugby.

"I've stayed in touch with a few of the lads and there's a great environment at the club, so I'm looking forward to getting back into the way of things and giving my all during the season ahead."

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder added: “Anthony comes with a great deal of experience, and given a couple of injuries we have, that is going to be crucial for us as the season gets under way.

"He has shown throughout his career his quality in the set-piece, as well as his formidable presence and ball carrying ability around the park.

“I’ve no doubt that he will prove to be a huge asset over the coming season and I’m really looking forward to seeing him back in the front row in the Bath colours.”
