SWINDON Robins team manager Alun Rossiter heaped praise on his side after they churned out successive win number 12 in comfortable fashion away to Somerset Rebels last night.

Rossiter was unable to get his side out for Thursday evening’s reverse fixture as that meeting fell victim to the weather.

However, the SGB Premiership leaders showed they were worth the wait as the saw out a 53-37 success away from home.

Frenchman David Bellego was in superb form for 12 points, Jason Doyle also performed well on his return to Robins colours, totalling 11+1, while Tobiasz Musielak continued to show why he has had such an impact on the side since his arrival, gathering 11+2 at the Oaktre Arena.

Rossiter said: “It was just an accomplished performance by the boys, everyone did their job.

“Jason was Jason and David Bellego was fantastic too. The other guys will get going as well, I know Bradley (Wilson-Dean) has a new engine coming soon, so it is good performance.

“Somerset managed to get a 5-1 win in heat 10 but we hit back with one of our own straight away. I was a bit worried but in the end, we were able to come back strong and it was an excellent result.”

The result means a 12th consecutive win for the Robins, which is a new club record, but while Rossiter says it is great his side keep turning out victories, he is well aware there is still a long way to go.

“It is 12 out of 12 now, but we aren’t worried about records. We’ve beaten the record and the boys aren’t even thinking about that,” added Rossiter.

“That is for the supporters and the press to think about but it is always nice for a team to be on a roll but we have won nothing yet.

“We are only halfway there and there is plenty more to go.”

There is no respite for the Robins as they have the opportunity to make it 13 on the spin on Monday evening when they welcome Kings Lynn Stars to the Abbey Stadium.

Rossiter said: “We should be full of confidence but they have some really good riders in there.”
