Robins meeting with Somerset postponed
TONIGHT'S meeting between Swindon Robins and Somerset Rebels has been called off due to the rain.
A downpour an hour before the meeting was due to take place at the Abbey Stadium left the track sodden, with large puddles forming on the home straight and the bends.
Officials attempted to delay the start until 8pm to allow for the track to dry out, with pumps used to clear the stagnant water.
However, further downpours at 7.15pm saw the decision taken to call the meeting off, with next Thursday being pencilled in for the rearranged fixture.
