SWINDON Town manager David Flitcroft is still looking to add ‘two or three’ players to his squad before the start of the League Two campaign in two weeks’ time.

Having already recruited nine players since his arrival in June, Flitcroft, who was left with a base of just 10 senior players when he took over, is still looking to bolster his squad.

The 43-year-old has been experimenting with formations this pre-season as he looks to land on his preferred option for the coming season.

However, Flitcroft is leaving his options open and wants to have that give available to him with the players he brings in over the next two weeks in order to combat whatever is thrown at him and his team during the coming season.

“You’ve got to be flexible,” he told the local media.

“Players have got to understand, in each system, when you play against different formations, we’re going to have to be flexible and change at times and how the momentum in the game is going.

“Is there more of a defensive structure to the team or an attacking structure.

“I am awaiting two or three players coming in, that might signal something different.

“We’re having a look at a lot of different options and that is what we are trying to do at the minute.

“It’s a real trial phase for everyone in the squad.”
