MIDFIELDER Ellis Iandolo marked his comeback from injury with a goal as Swindon Town shared a 1-1 draw with League One side Oldham Athletic in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly this afternoon.

Iandolo made his first appearance in Town’s summer friendly programme off the bench, having previously had a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a groin injury earlier this summer.

The 19-year-old appeared off the bench at the County Ground to cancel out Aaron Amadi-Holloway’s first-half opener for the Latics to continue Town’s unbeaten run in pre-season following previous wins against local non-league sides Swindon Supermarine and Melksham Town.

In what was effectively a training exercise for both teams, new Town boss David Flitcroft continued to run the rule over his squad ahead of the start of the League Two season on August 5.

All nine of Swindon’s summer signings saw match minutes at the County Ground, with Chris Hussey, Chris Robertson, Olly Lancashire, Ben Purkiss, James Dunne, Amine Linganzi and Paul Mullin all involved from the start.

Harry Smith and Donal McDermott – who both only joined the club earlier this week – came off the bench.

Town continue their pre-season programme on Monday night when they travel to Southern League side Salisbury before Flitcroft takes his troops on a five-night training camp to Portugal the following day.

SWINDON TOWN: Lawrence Vigouroux, Chris Hussey (Tom Smith), Chris Robertson (Dion Conroy), Olly Lancashire, Ben Purkiss, James Dunne, Conor Thomas (Ellis Iandolo), Amine Linganzi (Trialist), Paul Mullin (Donal McDermott), Luke Norris (Harry Smith), John Goddard (James Brophy).
