SWINDON Robins skipper Jason Doyle defied a broken foot to move to the top of the Speedway World Championship standings with another final appearance in Denmark tonight.

Australian Doyle, who had an operation earlier this week after suffering three broken bones in his right foot following a crash in Poland, won three of his seven races to secure 15 points and join Polish star Patryk Dudek at the top of the overall standings.

Doyle had several screws and plates inserted into his foot and even hobbled on crutches up and down the pits between races in Horsens, but still reached a fifth consecutive Grand Prix final in Denmark.
