BRADLEY Wilson-Dean believes his machinery is in a good state as he prepares to embark on his maiden season at Swindon Robins.

The New Zealand champion carded three points from his first outing of the season for SGB Championship side Peterborough in their challenge match defeat to a Coventry Select side at the weekend.

The 22 year old picked up a race win at the meeting and, despite failing to trouble the scorers thereafter, was largely happy with his day’s work.

“I was pleased with my race win in heat two, but from there it was a little frustrating really,’’ said Wilson-Dean.

“The track was pretty slick and dusty, if you moved off the curb you suffered for it.

“I tried to do that in one of my heats and as soon as I moved out to try and use a wider line, I was swallowed up by the others on the white line.

“I was in a scoring position in all my rides so I know I have the speed in my bikes. In my fourth ride I felt good and I was on the pace so I’m not too worried about coming last. It’s just good to get the first one out of the way.’’

Wilson-Dean will wear Swindon colours for the first time at the club’s official press and practice next Thursday (March 30).
