BREMHILL View opened up a 10-point gap on their rivals at the top of the Premier Division, although Ben Redford’s Calne-based side didn’t have everything their own way as they trailed fellow title hopefuls Somerford 1-0 at the break before turning the game on its head to run out 6-1 victors.

Bremhill were behind at the break to a Stuart Field goal, but the second half saw them come alive as both Billy Gleed and Mark Dolman scored twice and Kieron Gleed and Ed Summers netted one apiece to wrap up a huge win in the context of the title race.

Defending champions Melksham Town saw their hopes of retaining the title all but disappear after they were beaten 4-2 at home by Corsham CC Wildcats, whose second win over Melksham in the last month means that they are very much in the hunt to become champions themselves.

Melksham went ahead when the Wildcats Nigel Curtis deflected a Jack Woolsgrove shot in.

Dan King’s brilliant 25-yard free kick got the Wildcats back on level terms and a bullet header from King following a corner saw them lead 2-1 at the break.

Sam Jordan extended the Wildcats' lead to 3-1 and although Melksham were given a lifeline when the unfortunate Curtis beat his own keeper for a second time by diverting James Dark’s effort in, it wasn’t enough as a second from Jordan sealed the 4-2 success.
