LAST season’s beaten WG Parr Trophy finalists Somerford will have the chance to go one better this season after a 2-1 victory over Pheasant FC saw them set up a final meeting with Lavington Rangers in the Ken Clarke-sponsored competition.
A 30-yard thunderbolt from Mark Nolan on five minutes put Somerford in front.
Stuart Field put the villagers 2-0 up at the break when he followed up to dink the ball over keeper Del Llewellyn, who had produced a great double stop to keep the initial effort out.
With almost the last touch of the game Richard Hudson headed home for Pheasant but it was a case of too little, too late.
