SOMERFORD avenged their defeat in the final of last season’s Ken Clarke-sponsored WG Parr Trophy against Rowdy Cow Rowde by beating their fellow villagers in the quarter-finals of this term’s competition.

Trevor Rawlings’ side ran out 5-4 winners and carved out a 4-1 lead thanks to a brace from Kent Kauppinen, his first coming from the penalty spot, and goals from Josh Hughes and Lee Fernandez, with Luke Enderby notching for Rowde.

Kauppinen’s second spot-kick proved decisive as a Will Robbins own goal and effort from Rowde’s Jay Walters handed Somerford a few nail-biting moments as they booked their place in the last four.

Corsham Oak got the better of Division One stablemates Sutton Benger to book their place in the semi-finals with a 4-1 victory.

Joe Masson’s opener was cancelled out by James Weston but the Corsham man scored again before half-time, with Andy Wilkins and Aaron Masson notching in the second period.

After being upset in the Knockout Cup by Cavalier last weekend, Division One outfit Pheasant may have suffered a shock elimination from the Knockout Cup at the hands of Cavalier FC last weekend but they had no such troubles on Sunday as they decimated Division Three Calne United.

Josh Legg led the way with stonking seven-goal haul while Max Wyatt came off the bench to hit a hat-trick, with Rich Hudson and Rob Pocock and Craig Fisher also on target for Pheasant.

A 4-1 win for Lavington Rangers means they are heading to their second successive Parr Trophy semi-final appearance after avoiding a potential banana-skin in the guise of Division Three Warminster Wanderers.

Matt Tilley’s penalty got the ball rolling, with Jacob Rogers doubling Lavington’s lead before Jamie Howse pulled a goal back before half-time.

But Jack Fisher and Jamie Hall notched in the second period for Rangers.
