AFTER enjoying what he describes as one of the best experiences of his short career so far on his last trip to Sheffield United, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill is hoping for another afternoon to remember at Bramall Lane today.

Back at the tail end of January, Town capped their early revival under newly-appointed head coach Luke Williams and followed up victories over Southend United and Crewe Alexandra with a creditable 1-1 draw at the promotion-chasing Blades.

After danger man Billy Sharp had put United ahead from the penalty spot, Ormonde-Ottewill latched on to a pass from Yaser Kasim, cut inside two defenders and fired home with his weaker right foot with 11 minutes to go.

The former Arsenal academy youngster vividly remembers his first senior strike, which earned Swindon a point that day, and as his team prepare to head to South Yorkshire today, Ormonde-Ottewill is full of anticipation ahead of another opportunity to make memories.

“It was definitely one of the best experiences of my career and it was obviously my first professional goal,” said the Town full-back, who turns 21 later this month.

“I remember the ball being played out wide and me cutting in, pretending I was going to cross it first-time, and then slotting it home with my right-foot – it wasn’t the best of contact but it did enough to get the point.

“It was amazing. That day, (the attendance) was like 19,000 and I hadn’t played in front of a crowd that big before, so for me, I was a bit nervous before the game but I thought I handled it quite well.

“The boys always bring it up – it was my first professional goal, so a few of the boys always banter about it now and say: ‘are you still looking forward to playing Sheffield, now?’ but I am looking forward to it.

“There’s definitely history between both of the teams, so I think it’ll be a decent match.

“I think our last result against Bradford (two weeks ago) was a confidence-booster – they’re another decent side and we managed to pull off a 1-0 solid win, so I don’t see why we can’t go to Bramall Lane and get three points.”
