MORE than 80 juniors took part in the Wiltshire Closed Junior Squash Championships at Marlborough College on Sunday.
The U11s titles went to Swindon players - Bethany Donald and Harrison Hemmings.
At U13 level, the winners came from nearby St John’s as Year Seven pupil George Gibbins beat Angus Macmillan (St Francis) and Sophie Bolland defeated last year’s runner up Tamsin Morgan (Chafyn Grove).
In the U15 age group Corsham’s Marcus Wales overcame a spirited performance by Will Hodgson (Dauntsey’s) but it was back to Swindon with the two Under 17 titles as Lauren Doble (Dorcan Academy) first overcame Phoebe Marshman (Ridgeway) in the girls competition.
In the boys final Kieran Mellor (Commonweal) scraped past local boy Dan Davis (St John’s), winning 15-13 in the decider after saving five match balls.
