BRISTOL Rovers have announced they will offer free coach travel to supporters who attend the rearranged match against Swindon Town at the County Ground on September 20 - following the furore over Town's decision to charge fans again for the fixture.

Both sets of supporters face having to pay full price for a matchday ticket - unless they are season ticket holders - even if they attended the first game, which was abandoned on Saturday after heavy rain left the pitch waterlogged.

Supporters attending Saturday's game were originally told to retain their ticket stubs ahead of a new match date and Town's decision to charge supporters again has been roundly condemned, including by Rovers boss Darrell Clarke.

Town blamed the costs of policing for the decision, but Bristol will now offer their supporters free coach travel to the game.

A Rovers statement said: "As a gesture of goodwill to all of our fantastic supporters who made the trip, the club will be subsiding travel to the rearranged fixture if they can produce a ticket stub from the initial game, regardless of condition.''

TrustSTFC meanwhile have approached Town urging them to reconsider their decision to charge all non-season ticket holders full price for the new match.
