SWINDON Town travel to Peterborough United this weekend but all is not well with their goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.

The 29-year-old put in a transfer request on the eve of today’s transfer deadline day as he seeks a move away from London Road.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player only signed a new three-year contract in June and has been a regular in the Posh team, but was omitted from Saturday’s victory at MK Dons.

  • FLEETWOOD Town have signed midfielder Kyle Dempsey on a season-long loan from Championship side Huddersfield.

The 20-year-old made 24 appearances for Huddersfield last term, having cost the Terriers £300,000 to obtain his services from Carlisle United last summer.

Fleetwood beat off interest from a host of League One clubs to land the midfielder, and head coach Uwe Rosler was pleased to get his man.

“We are delighted to have Kyle on board for the coming season,” he told the club website.

“Kyle is a very talented player who arrives with experience of playing in the Championship last season and superbly in League Two before that.”

  • CHARLTON Athletic have signed Brighton and Hove Albion full-back Adam Chicksen on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper yesterday on a one-year deal to become Russell Slade’s 10th signing of the summer.

  • CHAMPIONSHIP outfit Brentford have had a second approach for Chesterfield winger Gboly Ariyibi rejected.

The Bees recently made their interest in Ariyibi, 21, clear to the League One club and, having been rebuffed, have seen a follow-up move similarly fended off.

Ariyibi, who joined Chesterfield in 2014 having been released by Leeds United, has attracted a lot of interest, with Barnsley also having a bid turned down.

  • ARSENAL youngster Gedion Zelalem is attracting the interest of League One leaders Bolton Wanderers, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is being linked with a loan move to the Macron Stadium, having spent last term on loan at Rangers.

  • SHEFFIELD United are chasing Wigan Athletic’s Craig Morgan and Northampton Town’s David Buchanan, who are both defenders, before the transfer window shuts.

United’s young forward, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, could also be the subject of a surprise bid from Manchester United, with a £1million fee being reported.

  • SECURING a new striker is the priority for Stuart McCall and Bradford City, with a move for Mansfield Town’s Matt Green floundering, while activity at fellow Yorkshire side Doncaster Rovers depends on the extent of the injuries picked up by Mitchell Lund, Matty Blair and Josh Marquis. All three suffered knocks at the weekend.
