BOTH FC Bradford and FC North Wiltshire have struggled in the latter part of the season, but their Division Two match at St Mary’s was a classic game of two halves.

The visitors led 2-0 at the break, but the hosts turned the game on its head in the second half to record a 3-2 win.

Ben Simpson and Martin Wagstaff gave North Wilts what appeared to be a comfortable lead at the break, however missed chances were to come back and haunt them.

Tactical changes for Bradford saw Phil Lewis power home a header to start the comeback, Ashley Styles made it 2-2 with five minutes remaining and in the dying seconds Mark Maguire’s thumping header was spilled by keeper Richard Toghill and the ball dropped over the line to give Bradford their win.

Oakhill remain in the driving seat for the second automatic promotion place into Division One, but they will be disappointed that they dropped two valuable points at Lacock FC especially as they had taken a half-time lead.

Ishan Pantry saw his effort for Oakhill wiped out by Lacock’s player-manager Ryan Ross, whose sixth goal of the campaign was good enough to earn his team a share of the spoils.

A week after they defeated Christian Malford 5-2, it was the turn of Lavington Rangers to host Grant Christie’s side and once again it was Lavington who took the spoils.

However on this occasion they have to overcome a 2-0 half time deficit before claiming a 3-2 success.

Ashley Fletcher’s first-half double had Malford on course to avenge their previous loss, but goals for Jamie Hall from the penalty spot and Cullen Wylie squared things up before Graham Dow bagged the Lavington winner.

Having opened up a four-point gap on their title-chasing rivals on Thursday evening with a victory over Oakhill, James Worsley's side The Grapes United clinched a top-two finish courtesy of their 5-4 win at Old Road.

It should only be a matter of time before the Melksham based side secure back-to-back titles.

The champions in waiting took a 2-0 lead via goals from Stuart Barber and Nigel Hall, but they were stunned by their hosts who got back on level terms before half time thanks to goals from Matt Poole and Jake Collins.

Mikki Harrison regained the lead for the Grapes, but back came Old Road with a second from Collins that made it 3-3.

Stuart Barber must have thought that he would have finally killed Old Road off when he put Grapes 4-3 ahead, but no Bath Road’s response was brilliant and a second from Poole saw parity restored for a third time.

Both teams went in search of a winner and it was Grapes, Nick Ridout who finally settled things when his tamely-struck shot found its way into the net to hands his team their 5-4 win.

The Mallard and Sutton Benger couldn’t be separated at the break as neither team could take any of the chances.

In the second period James Weston scored the only goal of the game that earned Benger a 1-0 win.
