WITH both their closest challengers missing out on a game at the weekend, AFC Melksham made the most of their opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and The Castle and Corsham Wildcats at the top of the Premier Division.
Melksham moved three points clear at the summit and boosted their goals for tally with a 14-1 demolition of local rivals Melksham Cosmos.
Sean Fordham took his tally for the season to 24 with six of the 14, Mo Santali added four, Callum Demkiv netted twice with a goal each from Ian Dowell and Jordan Kirk making up the tally.
Sean Heathcote struck the Cosmos consolation.
