Rovers still in talks over sharing County Ground

Bristol Rovers chairman Ron Craig said a final decision on where the Pirates will play home games next season is a imminent and Swindon Town's County Ground is still a prime contender.

Speaking after watching his side win promotion to League One through Saturday's 3-1 play-off final victory against Shrewsbury, Craig insisted the uncertainty would soon be over with Town topping their list of potential landlords.

Craig revealed four clubs had consented to a ground-share while their Memorial Stadium goes under development, describing Swindon and Cheltenham as prime contenders.

advertisement The Rovers chairman said negotiations are still to be completed but said he is confident a decision would be made in the not to distant future.

Craig said: "We will leave the Memorial Stadium permanently in December and will relocate for the next season and a half.

"We have almost decided where we are going but not quite yet.

"Swindon and Cheltenham are not the only option but they are prime contenders.

"There are one or two negotiations to be done yet but we are nearly there."
