TRUST STFC’s #5ktoCoventry initiative has been further boosted by a partnership with SAS Travel to ensure travel prices will be as low as possible for the trip to the Ricoh Arena on March 19.

The Trust - backed by the Swindon Advertiser - are aiming to take a bumper away following up the M5 next month and for those who are looking to take a coach to the West Midlands, SAS Travel are our recommended partner.

To bring down the cost of travel, all those who intend to take a coach to Coventry are strongly urged to register their interest by midnight on Tuesday, February 16.

Fans can express their intention to make the trip by coach by visiting www.truststfc.com/coaches and filling out the online form.

The more people who sign up, the lower the prices will be.

We hope the away end at the Ricoh will be a wall of noise and colour.

We’re banking on the vast majority of travelling fans coming resplendent in replica shirts and scarves from down the years.

So get rummaging in the attic for an old, woollen number from ’69, a Wembley special or your Paolo favourite, and bring it along.

We’ll be running competitions via our social media platforms on Twitter and Facebook on the day for the best-dressed Swindon fans, with memorabilia prizes in store, and ‘the redder, the better’.

Furthermore, thanks to contributions from our friends at Excalibur, we’ll be giving away 100 limited edition scarves before the big day.

More details on that to follow.

If you’re not travelling by coach, remember to check out our car-pooling scheme by logging onto bit.ly/coventrycarshare to share the expense of a road trip with other fans.

For rail lovers, services run out of Swindon via Birmingham New Street every hour from 9.29am, with the journey taking little less than two hours.

Supporters booking themselves onto the 6.25pm return trip can book an advanced ticket for £53.50.

Be advised that all other return tickets are around £12 more expensive until 8.25pm.

Getting from Coventry Station to the Ricoh requires two local buses.

Details can be found by visiting the following website: bit.ly/coventrytravel Meanwhile, Trust STFC can formally announce the date of its next Annual General Meeting.

The event will take place at Excalibur’s building – 3 Arclite House, Century Road, SN5 5YN – on Thursday, March 3 from 7.30pm.

Anyone interested in coming along to discuss the work of the Trust is most welcome.
