A VERY young Pewsey Vale side were well beaten on their trip to Downton and they remain well adrift at the foot of the Division One table.

Mistakes and errors created by pressure from the Downton frontline resulted in three early goals for the home side. It meant the game was pretty much dead and buried after just 35 minutes.

Vale played much better in the second half and began to show a bit of pride, with Jake Garratt and Chris Milne putting in strong shifts on their full debuts.

Attempts from Daniel Reynolds and Richard Payne failed to yield a goal for Pewsey but at least showed some desire to improve their position.

Unfortunately this good work was somewhat spoilt when Downton were able to add a fourth goal just before the final whistle.
