CHIPPENHAM Park may not have discovered their killer instinct just yet but boss Dave Ferris is nonetheless relieved to be reflecting on missed opportunities once again.

During a three-match winless run, which culminated in a 1-0 defeat to Isle of Wight outfit Newport last Saturday, Park’s potency had deserted them, with Ferris’ men struggling to create chances.

But the Hardenhuish Park outfit bounced back to winning ways and moved up to third in the Toolstation League First Division thanks to a 2-0 home win over Radstock Town on Tuesday night, which came courtesy of goals from Dan Smith and Adam Shipman.

"The last few games had been disappointing because we hadn't looked like creating anything, which was a far cry from the start of the season," said Ferris.

"There were three chances that were easier to score than miss against Radstock but it's nice to be bemoaning missed opportunities again.

“Radstock played their part fully in what was a very exciting game and I don’t think too many teams will take as many points off them as we have this season.”

Park travel to Keynsham Town in the first round of the Les Phillips Cup next weekend.
