TANGERINES boss Neil McDonald thought his side should have scored more, even though the one goal was enough to beat Swindon Town.

Mark Cullen put Blackpool ahead just over five minutes before the break, but they had chances to score before that and plenty in the second half when the game opened up.

With Blackpool leading 1-0, Bradley Potts hit the post with a long-range effort that Lawrence Vigouroux might have got a touch on and Bright Osayi-Samuel had three good chances to score having got in behind the Town defence.

With Town looking blunt, Blackpool only needed Cullen’s strike to get their second home win in a row.

Having started the week having not picked up three points at Bloomfield Road since January, McDonald was delighted to have made it two-in-two against Town, but thought his side could have made the game more secure.

“We’ve secured six points out of six at home, which we set,” he said.

“We’ve scored three goals and haven’t conceded which is a great return, especially at home which makes it even better because we haven’t won for a while.

“It was a great ball in from Henry (Cameron) and his delivery today was fantastic today from set-plays, we’re on the move and Mark (Cullen) has got the first contact and it’s well over the line.

“(Bright Osayi-Samuel) should have had a hat-trick. We put him on to give us energy and take that final man on.

“He’s done that and he just hasn’t got his reward for some good play.

“To get the two victories, in the style that we’ve played, it could have been more as well.

“We’ve created chances, both first and second half, and haven’t taken them. Then we have to defend for our lives again towards the end. I’ll take a 1-0 but we should have put the game beyond doubt with the chances we had.

“The glass of wine will taste sweet tonight when I get home.

“It’s always nice when you win, I’m looking forward to the games now. The boys are full of confidence and I feel as though we’re playing well and they’re getting their just rewards.”
