CHIPPENHAM’S Moonraker club took 54 gymnasts to the county Floor & Vault Championships in Melksham, returning with 11 gold, five silver and two bronze medals.

In Category A, the simplest level, Moonraker had nine seven-year olds fighting it out for the title.

Florrie Strange started the gold rush, with Summer Taylor adding silver and Kaitlyn Shone bronze.

Katherine Allday, Shawna Jones, Isabel Campbell, Madison Cox, Francesca Dipisa and Niamh Doherty also took part.

In Category B 8/9 years, Jocelyn Chillitupa claimed silver, with Emily Draper, Lauren Halliwell, Tamar Hibbert, Ellie Quaey and Imogen Waller presented with ribbons for placing fourth, fifth and joint sixth respectively and Megan Bates, Katie Shepperdson, Alannah Heneghan and Clara Black also competing well.

The 8/9 year old division in category C saw Chloe Searle placed fourth and Holly Parker sixth and Isobel Watt, Hermione Powell and Molly Warman also take part.

At 10/11 years Laura Findlay was sixth and in the 12/13 year old group Charlotte Tate placed fourth, with Teigan Higgs joining her in the top 10. In the 14+ years group Millie Strange matched younger sister Florrie with a gold medal.

In Category D 8/9 years, Moonraker swept the top five places, Sophie Townsend taking gold ahead of Ellie Treacy and Freya Gleed, Eva Falcone-Healy and Emily Macklin-Day.

In the 10/11 year old age group Ellie Kimber was fourth, Amelia Scott fifth and Amber Tiley seventhth.

The club took its third gold of the day in the 12/13 year old age group with Lauren Searle topping the podium.

Oriana Powell was fourth and Maisie Russell sixth and they were joined by Charlotte Townsend, Mille Ambler, Emma Rhodes, Grace Macklin-Day and Lizzie Drew.

The 14+ age group saw double gold for the club with Morgan Sanderson and Katie Strange tying for first place, all three Strange girls winning their individual competitions. Ella Stiles was 10th.

The highest level of competition, category E, proved to be the most successful for Moonraker, who took the gold medal in all three age groups.

At 10/11 years Mia Wright took top spot, pipping clubmate Kelsey Stokes, who finished with the silver medal.

At 12/13 years Holly Hope took gold and Dominique Cator did likewise at 14+ years level.

In the boys’ competition, Isaac Vines took the gold medal in the 8/9 year old age group ahead of team-mate Callum Johnstone who took the silver medal.

Victor Baker also took the gold medal in the 10/11 year old age group.
