ADVER Sport's Tom Bassam hands out his ratings from Town's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United.

Lawrence Vigouroux (booked)

One daft bit of footwork to round Sammon brought a few cheers and no doubt shredded a few nerves. As a goalkeeper he was excellent, made a few decent stops and came for crosses well. Could do nothing about the goals. 7

Kevin Stewart

Until the United goals you might have thought Thompson would have worried about his place. The Liverpool man's positioning was very questionable for the second. 6

Raphael Branco (booked)

A really good display from the centre-back who did not deserve to be on the losing side. Had the better of Sammon all game. 8

Jordan Williams (booked)

Certainly in the correct position as centre-back, but got caught under the ball for Blades' first, then in no man's land for the second. 6

Jordan Turnbull

Strode forward with purpose in his new role at left-back and was relatively effective. Once he tired in the second half his levels dropped. 6

Yaser Kasim

Is taking his cemented place in the side for granted currently. This was another poor display. 5

Drissa Traore

Town's best midfielder. He won the ball with regularity in midfield and passed with purpose. 8*

Anton Rodgers

Played well for 70 minutes but the Blades goal dented his confidence and his influence waned. 6

Nathan Byrne

Tried plenty and, on occasion, threatened but he would not have impressed many visiting scouts. 6

Michael Smith

Looks to have no confidence to get into the box, his approach play was tidy enough but his attacking threat is minimal at the moment. 5

Fabien Robert

The player in red most likely to score. Had Smith shown Robert's desire to get on the end of crosses he might have found the net, the Frenchman's stature counted against him. 7

Subs

Miles Storey (on for Smith, 67)

Utterly anonymous. 5
