SWINDON Town's Liverpool loanee Jordan Williams has been selected for Wales' upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

The utility man, who been employed in midfield and defence by Town this season, has been called up by Wales boss Chris Coleman for the national side's full squad.

Williams will travel to Nicosia for the qualifier against Cyprus on Thursday, September 3 and then returns to Wales for the Israel fixture on Saturday, September 6 in Cardiff.

Williams has likely been selected in place of injured Anfield teammate Joe Allen.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Williams' call-up will see Town's fixtures against Newport and Crewe rearranged. Both games fall within the FIFA international window and Williams is the third Swindon player to be called up for international duty, joining Jordan Stewart (Northern Ireland under 21s) and Yaser Kasim (Iraq).
