BEN Gladwin’s heroics in April have seen him nominated for the Sky Bet League One player of the month award.

The midfielder, plucked out of non-league football in 2013, earned Swindon Town a point at Colchester United on Tuesday night with his second-half equaliser.

Gladwin, 22, had already bagged himself five goals earlier in the month, netting his first professional hat-trick in the 4-2 success at Rochdale followed by a brace in the 3-3 draw against Walsall.

He will go up against Preston frontman Jermaine Beckford, MK Dons striker Will Grigg and Walsall defender James O’Connor for the accolade, with the winners being announced tomorrow.
