PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Preston v Swindon
Swindon Travel to Deepdale in a position of King Maker. Well actually, Prince Maker. The King has already been crowned.
Although we could technically still get to second place, in reality it isn't going to happen. The runners up slot could be confirmed this weekend and we can play a very big part in whom it might be. If we can beat Preston, then the door is wide open for MK Dons to claim the prize. A Preston defeat, MK draw and it could all be up for grabs on the last day of the season.
Beat Preston and they may be demoralised going into the Play-Offs. If Preston win, coupled with a draw between Rochdale and MK Dons, then it is all but over.
The other scenario is that of who we would like to face in the play-offs, Preston or MK Dons, presuming we can get to the final. We have to get there first and in all likelihood it will be The Blades standing in our way.
My take on the whole situation. We need to forget about all the ifs and buts; we need to be playing football. And a style of football that will win us matches. A style of football that does not give away goals. A style of football that produces opportunities. Opportunities that our front men seize upon and put that bag of wind into the onion net at the end of the pitch.
All the fancy footwork and heaps of possession count for nothing if we cannot have a higher total in the only stat that matters. Goals
