HOMEOWNERS who accept higher mortgage rates due to poor credit scores are being hit by increased average fees of around £1000.
Fees payable on so-called "sub-prime" mortgages have risen by 13.5% over the last six months from £813 to £923, Money Expert.com has warned.
The number of mortgages with a fee of more than £1000 has risen by 46%.
