CALNE Alpha 4 Swimming Club have had a busy start to 2015.

The club are awaiting their fate in the Moonrakers Winter League finals after good performances in the second and third rounds.

Meanwhile the club’s presentation night saw age group awards go to Millie Vowden, Oli Watts, Caitlin Fry, Sam Adams, Sam Blacker, Honey Owen, Sam Millar, Leah Wilkinson and Sam Owen.

Vowden and Watts also won the newcomers awards, while the coveted Hannah Owen Cup was won by Blacker with Richie Lamb winning the Tony Sharp Award for services to the club.

Calne Alpha swimmers brought home 11 gold, two silver and three bronze medals from the Swindon Dolphin Last Chance Meet, while at the County Sprints, the senior relay team picked up a silver medal which added to the club’s haul of two gold, 12 silver and two bronze medals in the individual events.

Leah Wilkinson, Sam Miller, Sara Eckersley and Sam Owen also gained places to swim in the finals for their sprint events.

At the Aquae Sulis Spring Meet, Sam Hammond and Sam Blacker joined Cailtin Fry, Anabelle Gleed, Ben Walker and Sam Adams in swimming regional qualifying times.
