BATH have confirmed that winger Olly Woodburn will join Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season.
Woodburn, who came through the Bath Academy, has made 41 appearances to date for the Rec side, but leaves to seek more game time.
“This has been a really tough decision for me”, said Woodburn. “Bath is where I started my rugby career and of course it’s hard to leave, but I feel I need a new challenge at this stage and Exeter have given me that opportunity.
“Everyone here has been really understanding about my decision, and I’m really appreciative of that. I’m looking forward to a fresh start with the Chiefs, but for now my complete focus is on Bath and helping the team achieve our aims for this season.”
Bath head coach Mike Ford added: “We’re sad to see Olly go. He’s a talented young player and will be a great addition to the Exeter squad.
"We completely understand his decision to go in the hunt for more regular games, and wish him all the best of luck with his future career.”
