WINNERS of the overall Wessex League title in 2009 and 2013, Clarrie Dunbar are on course to reach the play-offs again this season.
They face neighbours Christie Miller this Sunday in a central region group match - two rinks home and two rinks away - and victory would ensure that they finish in the top two of the section gaining their usual automatic play-off spot.
However, Miller still have an outside chance of collecting one of the four end of season play-off wildcards so there is certainly plenty to play for in Sunday’s local derby clash for both clubs.
Currently Clarrie, who won the central region group last season, are unbeaten and top the table again this time around with 60 points from their four matches while Bristol lie second on 46 points from the same number of matches.
Miller, after a slow start are now third on 32 points, also from four matches and have two to play against Clarrie Dunbar and Purnell.
Besides the Clarrie Dunbar and Christie Miller clash on Sunday, North Wilts meet basement side Thornbury while Purnell play Nailsea.
